THIS BULLETIN PROVIDES INFORMATION ON THE CORRECT SOCKET THAT MUST BE USED TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS ON THE "THETA" 2.4L ENGINE FIRST INSTALLED IN THE 2006 SONATA.

The 2.4L Theta engine requires a special Triple-Square socket to remove or install the head bolts. This is NOT the same as a 12-point socket. DO NOT use a 12-point socket to remove or install the head bolts. Use of a 12-point socket may damage the head bolts. The correct socket that must be used is a 12 mm "Triple-Square" socket available from Snap-On (STSM12E) or Matco (CQL12M2).
