Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Testing and Inspection
CANISTER
For evaporation monitoring, there are a CCV, a two-way valve and an air filter as the illustration.
1. Look for loose connections, sharp bends or damage to the fuel vapor lines.
2. Look for distortion, cracks or fuel leakage.
3. After removing the EVAP Canister, inspect for cracks or damage.
4. Blow low pressure air into the fuel tank side hose and check that the air flows without obstructions.
5. Blow low pressure air into the EVAP. canister purge solenoid valve side hose and check that the air flows without obstructions.
6. After stopping up the canister purge solenoid valve, blow low pressure air into the fuel tank side hose and inspect there are any leaks. If there are any leaks, replace the canister.
