Checking Power Steering Belt Tension

1. Press the V-belt applying a pressure of 98 N (22 lbs.) at the specified point, and measure the deflection to confirm that it is within the standard value range of 7-10 mm (0.28-0.39 inch).
2. To adjust the belt tension, loosen the oil pump mounting bolts, move the oil pump, and then retighten the bolts.
