Rear Lower

PROCEDURE
1. Remove the shock absorber.
2. Remove the brake line clamp bolt.





3. Remove the upper arm and, with the Special Tool disconnect the ball joint and knuckle.

CAUTION: While the special tool is being used, loosen do not remove the self-lock nut; only loosen it.

4. Remove the lower arm.
5. Remove the crossmember, loosening the crossmember mounting nuts to lower the crossmember.

CAUTION: loosen the nuts, but do not remove them.

6. Remove the assist link.
7. After removing the arm inspect for the following:
a. the bushing for wear and deterioration.
b. the upper arm or lower arm or assist link for bend or breakage.
c. The Ball Joint dust cover for cracks.
d. All The bolts for condition and straightness.





f. With the torque wrench measure the ball joint starting torque, it should measure 2-9 Nm (17-78 inch lbs.), if it doesn't, adjust it.

8. Install the arm in the reverse order of removal.
