Steering Wheel: Service and Repair






1. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.





2. Remove the driver's airbag module.

NOTE: Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it, doing so may damage the steering column.





3. Remove the steering wheel lock nut.





4. After making alignment marks on the steering shaft and wheel, remove the steering wheel, using the Special Service Tool (SST).

NOTE: Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it, doing so may damage the steering column.

5. Installation is the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
- When the steering is installed, make sure that the alignment marks are in alignment and that the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position.
