Alternator

TENSION SPECIFICATIONS
Tension Gauge Method:
New Belt 550-650 N (121-143 lbs.)
Used Belt 400-500 N (88-110 lbs.)
Inspection 350-500 N 77-110 lbs.)


NOTE: Check the belt using a suitable tension gauge when the engine is cold or at least 30 minutes after the engine has stopped if the belt is used belt.


Deflection Method:
New Belt 4.0-5.0 mm (0.157-0.197 inch)
Used Belt 5.0-5.5 mm (0.197-0.217 inch)
Inspection 5.0-6.0 mm (0.197-0.236 inch)


NOTE: Apply 100 N (12 lbs.) force to the belt back midway between the pulleys as shown in the illustration, measure the amount of deflection with a tension gauge.
