Rear
REMOVAL
When going to remove the rear stabilizer bar, follow the steps listed below.
1. Remove the stabilizer link mounting nuts.
2. Remove the stabilizer bar brackets and bush.
3. Remove the stabilizer bar.
INSPECTION
1. The bushing for wear and deterioration.
2. The stabilizer bar for deterioration or damage.
3. The stabilizer link ball joint dust cover for crack.
4. All bolts for condition and straightness.
5. Check the stabilizer link ball joint rotation starting torque and:
a. Shake the stabilizer link ball joint stud several times.
b. Mount the self-locking nut on the ball joint, and then measure the ball joint starting torque. The standard value should be 1.7-3.2 Nm (15-27 ft. lbs.).
c. If the starting torque exceeds the upper limit of standard value, replace the stabilizer link.
d. Even if the starting torque is below the lower limit of the standard value, the ball joint may be reused unless it has drag and excessive play.
INSTALLATION
Install the rear bar in the reverse order of removal.
