DESCRIPTION
The exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor converts the temperature of exhaust gas recirculation gas downstream from the exhaust gas recirculation valve to voltage and inputs it to the engine control module. The engine control module judges the condition of the exhaust gas recirculation by this signal. If there is abnormal condition. the engine warning light is turned on to notify the driver.

COMPONENT TEST PROCEDURE





1. Place the exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor in water, and then measure the resistance value between terminals 1 and 2 while increasing the water temperature.
2. If out of specification, replace the EGR temperature sensor.

At 50°C (122°F) 60-83K ohms
At 100°C (212°F)m 11-14K ohms
