REAR WINDOW GLASS UPPER MOULDING ASSEMBLY MODIFICATION
DESCRIPTION
The rear window side moulding upper joint and rear window glass upper moulding assembly shapes have been changed to ensure optimal attachment to the rear glass and the roof panel.
These new joints are different for the left and right side, while the previous one was used for both sides.
PART INFORMATION
SERVICE PROCEDURE
If replacing only the joint, take extra care not to damage the moulding because the joint is attached to the moulding assembly.
The instruction outlined below details the procedure necessary to the replace the joint and moulding assembly as a set.
1) Remove the rear window glass upper moulding assembly.
2) Clean the remaining sealant out with a knife.
Caution:
When cleaning the remaining sealant out from the groove, please take extreme care not to damage the painted part of the roof panel. Paint damage may cause corrosion.
3) Put sealant into each side of the groove.
4) Insert the moulding into the joint.
5) Set the moulding into the groove by tapping lightly with a plastic hammer.
6) Apply tape across the moulding joint, and do not remove it for one day to firmly secure the moulding and joint.
