WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE REPLACEMENT



Effective with February 7, 1992 production, the wiper arms and blades have been changed to improve quality.

The following procedures for windshield wiper blade replacement should be followed:

1. Replace the driver's and passengers wiper blades and arms on any vehicle in inventory which was produced before February 7, 1992.

2. Perform the same repair on customer vehicles if they have a wiper performance concern.

WIPER BLADE IDENTIFICATION

Some vehicles produced before February 7, 1992 have already had the new wipers installed. Identify if the vehicle has the new or old style windshield wipers prior to replacing.

The new driver side wiper arm does not have the fin or screw holes. Also, the new rubber blade is held at eight points by the arm, as opposed to six for the previous arm. There is no visual difference between the old and new arms on the passenger side.

AFFECTED VEHICLES:
All Sonatas from the beginning of production through February 7, 1992 production.
