PARKING BRAKE CABLE

SERVICE INFORMATION:

To improve operation in severe cold weather conditions, the parking brake cable assembly has been revised. The new parking brake cable assembly is suitable as a service replacement for 1991 through 1993 Sonata models.

INSTALLATION:

1. Remove the boot from the new cable by sliding off the clamps at both ends.

2. Slide the cable without the boot through the brake backing plate bracket.

3. Place clamp on the cable and slide it up against the backing plate. Reinstall the boot.

4. Slide the boot damps onto the ends of the boot.

5. Connect the cable to the parking brake shoe lever.

Follow the instructions in the appropriate shop manual to properly adjust the parking brake cable assembly.
