FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS


Hyundai makes the following fuel recommendations:

1. 100% Unleaded fuel of Octane Rating 87 (Research Octane Number 91) is recommended to be used in Hyundai vehicles.

2. Gasohol (a mixture of 90% unleaded gasoline and 10% ethanol or grain alcohol) may be used in Hyundai vehicles. However, if the vehicle develops driveability problems, use 100% unleaded fuel to restore performance.

NOTE:
The use of fuels with unspecified quantities of alcohol, or alcohols other than ethanol should not be used.

3. Hyundai recommends that fuel containing MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether) over 11 % by volume (Oxygen content 2.0% volume) should not be used in Hyundai vehicles. Fuels containing MTBE over 11 % volume (Oxygen content 2.0% volume) may reduce vehicle performance and produce vapor lock or hard starting.

4. Fuels containing Methanol (wood alcohol) should not be used in Hyundai vehicles. This type of fuel may damage the components of the fuel system.
