Subject ELANTRA A/C INSTALLATION


This bulletin is to inform A/C installers of an additional step in the dealer and port installation of Elantra A/C kits.

Elantras imported without air conditioning have a shield (cover) attached to the right side brake pedal support to prevent a passenger from inadvertently contacting the brake components.

This shield (cover) must be removed in order to install the A/C evaporator. This step was omitted from the installation instructions contained in the A/C kit, P/N 97600-28A00.

In the instruction manual "Block 3 Step 4 thru 5 - Interior Installation", add a 6th procedure to step 5.





6. Remove two lower nuts on brake pedal support, remove cover, reinstall nuts and torque to 6-9 lb.ft.(80-120 kg.cm.)
