MANUAL TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTOR BUZZ
Condition: Manual transmission gear selector buzzing noise.
Cause : Shift cable and select cable vibration.
Correction: Securely tie the shift cable and select cable together with a plastic wire tie.
Service Procedure
1) Locate the transmission end of the shift cable and the select cable, which are accessible under the hood.
1a) The shift cable is located closest to the RH inner fender.
2) Approximately 50-60 mm (2-2-3/8 in.) from the rubber collar, tie both cables together using a 160 mm (6-1/4 in.) plastic cable tie. (P/N 91652-31001)
2a) It is important to tie the cables parallel to each other, not crossed over. (See illustration).
3) Road test the vehicle to confirm that the buzzing noise has been eliminated.
