MODIFIED DISCHARGE HOSE





A modified compressor discharge hose that incorporates a noise muffler is now available for use on the 2.4L Sonata A/C system. This new hose, which is interchangeable with the previous hose was incorporated in production on 10/20/89.

Service Procedure

1. Open the hood.





2. Referring to Sonata shop manual, discharge the refrigerant system.

3. Disconnect the high pressure switch connector.





4. Remove the strap tying the discharge hose to the accelerator cable.





5. Remove the discharge hose mounting clip bolts.





6. Remove the distributor cap.





7. Disconnect the discharge hose from the compressor.





8. Remove the discharge hose from the condenser assembly using the tube remover (SST P/N 09977-33600).

9. Install the new discharge hose in the reverse order of removal.

10. Install the discharge hose mounting clip bolts.

11. Install the distributor cap.

12. Referring to Sonata shop manual, evacuate and charge the refrigerant system.
