Fuel Pressure Regulator PI Replacement
Fuel Pressure Regulator PI ReplacementWARNING: Compressed natural gas is flammable and highly explosive. You could be killed or seriously injured if leaking natural gas is ignited.
Stop the engine, and keep heat, sparks and flames away.
1. Relieve fuel pressure between the engine and the manual shut-off valve.
2. Drain the engine coolant,
3. Remove the cowl cover and under-cowl panel,
4. Remove the fuel pressure regulator protector (A).
5. Remove the fuel feed hose (B), then disconnect the hoses (C) and the fuel line (D).
NOTE: Always use two wrenches when removing or installing the fuel line nuts.
6. Disconnect the connectors (E), and remove the bolt (F) and the nut (G).
7. Lift the vehicle and support it with jackstands.
8. Remove exhaust pipe A,
9. Remove the heat shield (A).
10. Remove fuel pressure regulator P1 (A) from the bracket (B).
11. Move fuel pressure regulator PI (A) as shown.
12. Remove fuel pressure regulator PI (A).
13. Remove the stay (A).
14. Install fuel pressure regulator PI in the reverse order of removal. Be careful not to deform any of the lines, and assemble them securely when you reinstall the heater hoses.
NOTE: Apply silicone oil or polyalkyleneglycol (PAG) oil to a new O-ring and the fuel pressure regulator.
15. Refill the radiator with engine coolant,
16. Do the leak inspection procedure.
