Loose or Missing Courtesy Light Lens

SYMPTOM

Loose or missing courtesy light lens on one or more doors.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Weak retaining force of the lens housing.

VEHICLES AFFECTED

Japan production: 4-door only

US production: All

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the courtesy light with the appropriate one listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

1. Remove the door panel. Refer to section 20 of the appropriate service manual for instructions.





2. Separate the courtesy light housing from its 2-P connector inside the door.

3. If still attached, pull the lens off the housing; then remove the two screws, and pull the housing out of the door panel.

4. Check the operation of the light. It should turn on when the door is opened and turn off when the door is closed.

5. Install the new courtesy light in the reverse order of removal.
