Fuel Pressure Regulator: Description and Operation
Fuel Pressure Regulator:
OPERATION
The Fuel Pressure Regulator, mounted on the fuel injector rail, maintains a constant fuel pressure for the fuel injectors. The Fuel Pressure Regulator monitors the intake manifold pressure (manifold vacuum), while the difference between manifold pressure and fuel system pressure is less than 3.0 kg/cm2 (43 psi) the valve remains closed. When the difference exceeds 3.0 kg/cm2 (43 psi), the valve opens and the excess fuel is fed through the fuel return line back into the fuel tank.
