Removal and Installation

Ensure dirt or other foreign matter is not allowed to contaminate brake fluid. Do not mix different types of brake fluid as they might not be compatible.
1. Refer to Figs. 25 thru 26 when replacing rear calipers.
2. Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assemblies.
3. Remove caliper shield, then disconnect parking brake cable from caliper lever by removing lock pin.
4. Remove banjo bolt and disconnect brake hose from caliper.
5. Remove two caliper mounting bolts, then caliper.

INSTALLATION

1. Install caliper and caliper bolts.
2. Connect brake hose to caliper, and install banjo bolt.
3. Connect parking brake cable to caliper arm.
4. Fill brake reservoir and bleed rear brakes.
5. Operate brake pedal several times, then adjust parking brake lever. Before adjustments, ensure parking brake arm on caliper touches the pin.
6. Install caliper shield, then wheel and tire assemblies.
