Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Adjustments

NOTE: Before adjusting the throttle control cable, make sure:
- Engine is at normal operating temperature
- Throttle cable free play is correct
- Idle speed is correct
- Throttle linkage is in the full closed position

1. Remove throttle cable free play.

NOTE: You can work the throttle body linkage by hand.

2. Apply light thumb pressure to throttle control lever on transmission, then work the accelerator or throttle linkage.
3. The lever should move just as engine speed increases above idle. If not, proceed to step 4.
4. Loosen nuts on control cable at transmission end and synchronize control lever so engine speed increases just as lever moves.
