Half Open Window Rattle
(Supersedes 91-010, dated April 12, 1991)

SYMPTOM

The window rattles when it is half open.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Excess clearance between the guide pin and the center sash guide.

CORRECTIVE ACTION [NEW]

Replace the sash guide with the improved guide listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

1. Lower the window fully.

2. Peel off the sash guide cover.





3. Remove the mounting screws and the sash guide.

4. Install the new sash guide with the original screws.

5. Apply small dabs of 3M Super Silicone Sealant, P/N 08662, to the top, middle, and bottom of the back side of the sash guide cover. Install the sash guide cover to the sash guide.

6. Use an acid brush or cotton swab to apply Honda Dielectric Grease (P/N 08798-0001) in the guide pin channel. Clean up any excess that gets on the outside of the channel.

7. Raise and lower the window, check for smooth operation.
