Headrest Lower Seam Won't Stay Tucked In

PROBLEM

The headrest lower seam detaches, allowing the upholstery to hang down.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Refasten the headrest lower upholstery seam and apply adhesive.

1. Remove the headrest from the seat.
2. Protect the headrest fabric with a clean piece of cardboard and place the headrest in a vise-like holder.
3. Compress the headrest slightly to allow for ease of reassembly.

4. Using a flat blade screwdriver, carefully fold the plastic sewn strip over and tuck it into the plastic J-strip. Start at one end and work across the headrest. Make sure the plastic strip and the J-strip are centered with each other to avoid gaps at the corners.

5. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the J-strip seam to spread it open slightly.

6. Carefully apply small amounts of cyanoacrylate ("super glue") to the areas shown.

7. Let dry for approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Reinstall the headrest.
