SYMPTOM
The cup holder buzzes.


PROBABLE CAUSE
Space between the center console and the cup holder.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
Add insulation between the the cup holder and the console.

^ If the car within the VIN range, add insulation to the center console and replace the cup holder with the new cup holder assembly listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

^ If the car is above the VIN range, add insulation to the console, and reinstall the existing cup holder assembly.

1. Remove the center console.

^ Make sure the gear selector is as far back as possible.

^ For manual transmissions, remove the shift lever knob.

^ Pull up the hand brake and tilt the console up.

^ Remove the console in one piece.

2. Remove the cup holder assembly according to the diagram in the appropriate service manual.

3. Cut two pieces, 15 mm x 8 mm x 1 mm, of wool felt.





4. Install the felt on the sides of the center console where it contacts the cup holder.


5. Install the new cup holder, or reinstall the existing one.

6. Reinstall the center console and if, necessary, the shift lever knob.
