Brake Fluid Pump: Testing and Inspection
Place vehicle on level ground with wheels blocked, put transmission in neutral for manual transmission models and in ``park'' for automatic transmission models during leak test.Fig. 5 Inspection Connector Location:
1. On Prelude models, with ignition switch off, disconnect 6-P inspection connector from connector cover on the right side of front console and connect it to anti-lock brake checker No. 07HAJ-SG0010A or equivalent, Fig. 5.

2. On Accord models, with ignition switch off, disconnect 6-P inspection connector from connector cover on the crossmember under passenger seat and connect it to anti-lock brake checker No. 07HAJ-SG0010A or equivalent on 1991 models or No. 07HAJ-SG0010B or 07HAJ-SG00100 or equivalent on 1992 models, Fig. 6.
3. On all models, remove modulator reservoir filter, then fill reservoir to max level.

4. Bleed high pressure fluid from maintenance bleeder with special bleeder wrench tool No. 07HAA-SG00101 or equivalent, Figs. 8 and 9.
5. Start engine and release parking brake, then turn mode selector to ``1'' and press start test button.
Fig. 10 Solenoid Return Tube Location.:
6. On 1991 models, while anti-lock brake pump is running, place your finger over the top of solenoid return tube, Fig. 10.
Fig. 11 Separator Location. 1992 Accord:
7. If you can feel brake fluid coming from return tube, one of the solenoids is leaking. Procede to steps eight and nine. If you can't feel brake fluid coming from return tube, solenoids are satisfactory.
8. On 1992 models, while anti-lock brake pump is running, place your finger over the top of separator in modulator reservoir, Fig. 11.
9. If you can feel brake fluid coming from separator, one of the solenoids is leaking. Procede to steps 10 and 11. If you can't feel brake fluid coming from return tube, solenoids are satisfactory.
10. On Prelude models, bleed high pressure fluid from maintenance bleeder with bleeder wrench tool, then run through modes``3'' and ``6'' with anti-lock brake checker. Repeat this three or four times.
11. On Accord models, bleed high pressure fluid from maintenance bleeder with bleeder wrench tool, then run through modes ``3'', ``4'' and ``5'' with anti-lock brake checker. Repeat this three or four times.
12. Repeat steps five and six. If solenoid leakage has stopped, reinstall modulator filter and refill reservoir to max level. If solenoids are still leaking, replace modulator.
