Compressor Clutch Diode HVAC: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: The diodes are designed to pass current in one direction and block current in opposite direction.

1. Using an ohmmeter or continuity tester, check the diodes.
2. Connect positive probe to No. 1 terminal and negative probe to No. 2 terminal.
- There should be continuity.
3. Reverse the test probe positions and check.
- There should be no continuity.
4. Check the other diode (terminals 3 and 4). Connect positive probe to No. 4 terminal and negative to No. 3.
- There should be continuity.
5. Reverse the test probe position. There should be no continuity.
