Corrective Action - A

Vehicles Normally Driven Outside Areas of Heavy Salt Use





1. Disconnect both hoses from the fuel filler pipe. Remove the mounting bolt and three mounting nuts. Remove the pipe by moving the bottom end forward and pivoting the top end down and out.





2. Inspect the black plastic coating for cracking or peeling. Pay particular attention to the area shown in the illustration.

^ If the coating is cracked or peeling, replace the fuel filler pipe.





^ If the coating is undamaged, spray the shaded areas with 3M Rust Fighter 1 (see REQUIRED MATERIALS).

3. Go to COMPLETION PROCEDURE.
