Power Door Lock "Cycling" (Supersedes 88-004, dated July 29, 1988)




SYMPTOM

The power door lock actuators continue to operate intermittently even though the doors are already locked. This "cycling" usually occurs immediately after locking the driver's door.


CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the power door lock actuator.

1. Remove the driver's door trim panel as described in the service manual (page 21-5).

2. Remove the lower bolt and move the window channel out of the way.

3. Unplug the connector, remove the three screws and the actuator.

4. Install the new actuator, then check to see that the power door locks work properly.

5. Fit the window channel back in position then reinstall the door trim panel.
