Window - Front Power Window Noise

PROBLEM

While closing the front window(s), a sharp cracking sound can be heard during the last 2 inches of travel.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Deformed or displaced door window stopper(s).

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the doorwindow stopper(s) with the parts listed under PARTS INFORMATION

NOTE: Accord Sedans have one stopper per door; Accord Hatchbacks have two stoppers per door.

Door Window Stopper:




1. Open the front window completely..

2. Remove the door mirror (if equipped).

3. Remove the outer weatherstrip molding: pry the molding up gently, starting at the rear of the door.

NOTE: The outer molding can be removed without disassembling the door.

Stopper Holder:




4. Remove the stopper holder from the door using a slotted screwdriver, taking care not to drop the holder into the door.

Rubber Stopper:




5. Separate the rubber stopper from its holder and replace it with a new part.

6. Place a dab of 3M's Super Silicone Sealant (3M Part No. 08661) or equivalent on the back of the stopper holder, and install the holder in the door.
7. Reinstall molding and door mirror.

Rubber stopper: H/C 2378610, P/N 72333-SE3-003

NOTE: A new stopper holder, H/C 2185197, P/N 72332-SE3-013, may also be ordered separately.
