Door Glass Run Cut on '84 and '85 Civic Hatchback


SYMPTOM

The door glass run is cut which may cause the window glass to rattle.

Door Glass Run:

CORRECTIVE ACTION

1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Roll the window completely down.
3. Remove the glass run from the door.
4. Remove the upper bolt, then reinstall it with a 1.5 mm thick washer (such as H/C 0629824) between the front channel and the mount boss on the door as shown.


5. While holding the front channel in its most forward position, tighten the upper bolt.
6. Loosen, and then center the bottom bolt in its oblong hole; then re-tighten it.
7. Install a new glass run, then roll the window up and down several times to check for smoothness of operation.
