CORRECTIVE ACTION
^ For '87 Accord, do steps 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. [NEW]
^ For '86 Accord, do steps 1 through 10.
^ For '82-85 Accord, do only steps 7 through 10.
1. Remove the door trim panel, the window, and the glass run channel, following the Service Manual procedure.
2. Remove the outer window molding by prying up with a long flat tip screwdriver at the rear edge of the door.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to mar the painted surface.
3. Remove the two door sash garnish screws that were under the glass run channel. Remove the garnish by prying up as shown, starting at the top.
4. Replace the two center pillar grommets that hold the garnish screws in place with the new type listed under Parts Information. Install the grommets with the locating tip facing outward.
5. Replace the glass run channel with the new type listed under Parts Information.
6. Pull (by hand) on the outside door skin at the center of the window opening until it conforms with the curve of the glass.
7. Roll the window down and release tension by loosening the three bolts and one nut holding the front and rear window channels.
8. Roll the window up half way and loosen the roller guide mount bolts. Adjust the roller guide to a "neutral" position. Retighten the bolts and check for ease of window operation. Readjust the roller guide if necessary.
9. Spray the vertical sections of the glass run channel with Honda Silicone Spray (H/C 1385731) or equivalent. Lubricate the window regulator roller mechanism with Honda Lithium Grease (H/C 1385780) or equivalent.
10. Reassemble the remaining door components and recheck window operation.
