Key Cannot Be Removed From Ignition Switch

SYMPTOM

The ignition switch will not turn from OFF to LOCK when you attempt to remove the key.

PROBABLE CAUSE






A spring in the ignition switch lock cylinder blocks the lock slider, and/or the shift lock cable is out of adjustment.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Diagnose the problem, then replace the steering lock assembly, and/or adjust the shift lock cable.
