MIL ON - DTC P1441 EVAP System Flow

MIL ON With DTC P1441 Stored
SYMPTOM
After starting a cold engine in a warm garage, and then driving out into freezing weather, DTC P1441 (EVAP system flow during non-purge) is stored, and the MIL comes on.
PROBABLE CAUSE
During evaporative system self-diagnostics, a rapid temperature change in the fuel tank sets a false DTC.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Update the PCM software with the Smart Cable.
REQUIRED TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
PGM Tester with SN902 or later software.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Retrieve the PCM broadcast code with the PGM Tester or the Smart Cable (see Service Bulletin 99-005).
2. Compare the code you retrieved with the codes in the list below.
^ If the code is in the list, go to step 3.
^ If the code is not in the list, the PCM software has already been updated. Use the '96-97 Passport Fuel and Emissions Manual to troubleshoot the cause of DTC P1441.
