Transaxle Electrical Diagnosis
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
Perform the "PCM On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check" to determine if a malfunction has occurred within the electronic control system. The "PCM OBD System Check" must be the starting point for any transaxle electrical repairs because it directs the service technician to the next logical step. Understanding the chart and using it correctly will reduce diagnostic time and prevent the unnecessary replacement of otherwise functional components.
IMPORTANT:
If a malfunction in the TCC solenoid circuit occurs, the PCM will store a DTC 64. However, the "O/D OFF" indicator will NOT flash continuously to alert the driver of the malfunction in the TCC circuit. For this reason, the "PCM OBD System Check" must always be performed first to eliminate the possibility of an electronic control system malfunction from diagnosis procedures.
