EGR Manifold Passage Inspection

INSPECT
Inspect the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) passages in the intake manifold for any buildup of deposits. Clean the passages if necessary.

Important: Be sure that all loose particles are completely removed in order to prevent the particles from being ingested into the engine or clogging the EGR valve.

CLEAN
^ Clean the exhaust deposits from the mounting surface and from around the EGR valve.
^ Look for exhaust debris in the EGR valve outlet. Remove the debris with a screwdriver.
^ Clean the mounting surfaces of the intake manifold and the EGR valve assembly.
