Routine inspection of the compressor drive belt may reveal small cracks in the belt ribs. The technician must decide whether or not these cracks are serious enough to impair belt performance, requiring belt replacement. If any sections of the belt are missing, the belt should be replaced immediately.

1. Inspect the belt for proper alignment on compressor and the crankshaft drive pull.
2. Check the compressor drive belt tension use thumb pressure and adjust if necessary specification.
3. To adjust belt tension, loosen compress mounting bolts and repositioning compress along the upper mounting bracket axis.

Tighten

^ Compressor mounting bolts to 18-28 N (13-20 lb. ft.).
