Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
WARNING: To avoid injury resulting from the retained load on the modulator assembly, use the TECH 1 scan tool, equivalent, to perform the "Gear Tension Relief Sequence" function before removing the brake control and motor assembly.1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then the motor pack, solenoid and shuttle switch electrical connectors.
2. Position a suitable shop towel beneath hydraulic modulator brake tube connections to prevent component contamination, then disconnect tubes at modulator and shuttle valve.
3. Plug ends of brake tubes to prevent fluid loss and contamination, then remove modulator/motor pack assembly bolts.
4. Lift modulator/motor pack out of vehicle.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque hydraulic modulator bolts to 48 inch lbs. and brake tube fittings to 11 ft. lbs.
b. Bleed brake system. Brake Bleeding
