DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove band clamp of inner and outer joint assemblies.
2. Remove drive axle end circlip.
3. Remove housing of inner joint, Fig. 6.
4. Remove circlip and inner ball joint, Fig. 7. No not disassemble inner or outer ball joint. Replace these components as an assembly only.
5. Remove outer joint assembly.
6. Remove inner and outer boots from shaft.
7. Inspect boots for breakage or corrosion and replace if necessary.
8. Inspect circlip, snap ring, and boot clamps for breakage or corrosion and replace if necessary.
9. Clean all parts, except boots, in degreaser and dry parts completely with compressed air. Clean boots with clean, damp cloth. Do not wash in degreaser.

ASSEMBLY
1. Apply GM grease kit No. 7805942 or equivalent to outer joint.
2. Assemble outer boot on shaft. Fill outer boot with grease, then fit boot on joint and install clamps.
3. Install inner boot on shaft.
4. Install inner ball joint on shaft with its flat surface toward the outer joint, Fig. 7 and apply grease to joint.
5. Install snap ring in groove on shaft.
6. Fill inside of inner boot with grease and install housing. Assemble boot to housing and install clamps. When clamping boot clamps, bend its end in reverse direction against drive rotating direction.
