The differential assemblies installed to the front and rear axles use a hypoid bevel pinion and gear. The rear differential is set in an axle housing while the front differential is set in an aluminum housing mounted under the chassis frame. The reduction ratio for manual transmission equipped vehicles is different from automatic transmission equipped vehicles, Fig. 1.
