EFE Heater: Service and Repair

Throttle Body Parts Identification:

REMOVE:

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain engine coolant.
3. Air cleaner assembly.
4. Accelerator cable.
5. Kick down cable (if equipped)
6. Cruise cable (if equipped)
7. Two (2) electrical connectors.
8. Coolant hose from air valve.
9. Vacuum hoses (all).
10. Fuel pressure line and clamp.
11. Fuel return line at pressure regulator.
12. Four (4) fasteners holding throttle body to intake manifold.
13. PCV hose at throttle body.
14. Throttle body.
15. PTC electrical connector
16. PTC heater
17. Clean throttle body surface

PTC Heater:

Installing PTC Heater:

INSTALL:

1. New throttle body base gasket.
2. Throttle body to intake manifold.
3. Four (4) fasteners and torque to 18-28 N-m (13-20 lb. ft.)
4. PCV hose to throttle body.
5. Fuel pressure line and clamp.
6. Fuel return line.
7. Vacuum hose.
8. Two (2) electrical connectors.
9. Engine coolant hose to air valve.
10. Accelerator cable and adjust refer to procedure in this section.
11. Cruise cable (if equipped)
12. Kick down cable (if equipped)
13. Refill coolant to proper level.
14. Negative battery cable.

NOTE: Start engine and check for leaks.

15. Air cleaner assembly.
