Code 42 Chart - TCC:

Torque Converter Clutch - TCC - Wiring Diagram:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:

The ECM will provide a ground for the lock-up relay to engage the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid. If voltage is always present, a Code 42 will set.

TEST DESCRIPTION: The numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. A short to B+ on circuit 438 will cause a Code 42.

2. Checking for a shorted TCC solenoid.

3. B+ on WHITE wire indicates a short or faulty relay.
