Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
Electronic Brake Control Module And Antilock Pressure Valve:
NOTE: The Antilock Pressure Valve (APV) valve is not serviceable. It should be replaced when the diagnostic trouble code charts show it is the cause of a malfunction.
REMOVAL
CAUTION: Do not touch the electrical connections and pins or allow them to come into contact with brake fluid as this will damage the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).
1. Remove brake pipe fittings.
CAUTION: Do not allow the Antilock Pressure Valve to hang by the wiring harness.
2. Remove bolts.
3. Remove bottom electrical connector from EBCM.
4. Remove Antilock Pressure Valve.
INSTALLATION
1. Install Antilock Pressure Valve.
- Tighten bolts to 29 Nm (21 ft lbs).
2. Install electrical connector to the module.
- If there is brake fluid on the connectors, clean them with water followed by denatured alcohol.
3. Install brake pipes.
- Tighten fittings to 24 Nm (18 ft lbs).
4. Bleed the system. With ABS System
