Column Shift

Description:






1. Place shift lever in "Reverse" position and ignition switch in "Lock."

2. Raise vehicle on a hoist.

3. Loosen shift control rod swivel lock nuts. Pull down slightly on 1/R rod attached to column lever to remove any slack and then tighten clevis lock nut at transmission lever.

4. Unlock ignition switch and shift column lever to "Neutral". Position column lower levers in "Neutral", align gauge holes in levers and insert gauge pin.

5. Support rod and swivel to prevent movement and tighten 2-3 shift control rod lock nut.

6. Remove alignment tool from column lower levers and check operation. Then place column lever in "Reverse" and check interlock control.
