VSS1 - VSS Signal to PCM

- Key OFF.

- Install Breakout Box.

- Key ON.

- Raise the vehicle on hoist.

- Measure the DC voltage at BOB Test Pin VSS while spinning the front tires with the vehicle in D range.

- Does the voltage alternate between 0 and 5 volts?

Yes -- VSS circuit OK.

If sent to this test by a Component Verification Test, Return to Diagnostic Routines. Testing and Inspection

No -- Go to VSS2. VSS2 - Check VSS Wire to PCM For Open
