Power Steering Pump to Steering Gear Pressure Line









Removal and Installation

NOTICE: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may result.

NOTICE: Do not allow power steering fluid to contact the accessory drive belt or damage to the belt may occur.

1. Remove the battery and battery tray.

2. Disconnect the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) sensor electrical connector.

3. Detach the pressure line from the 2 pressure and return line retainer clips.

4. Remove the PSP (Power Steering Pressure) sensor from the pressure line.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).


5. Remove the pressure line-to-power steering pump clamp plate bolt and disconnect the pressure line from the power steering pump.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).


6. Remove the nut from the A/C compressor stud and position the A/C line and pressure line brackets aside.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).


7. Remove the nut from the starter motor stud and position the pressure line bracket aside.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).


8. Detach the pressure line from the 3 pressure and return line retainer clips.

9. Remove the steering line-to-steering gear retainer clip bolt.

10. Remove the steering line clamp plate bolt, rotate the clamp plate and disconnect the pressure line from the steering gear.
- To install, tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).


11. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission.
- Pinch the selector lever cable retainer clips together and carefully pull outward to detach the cable from the cable bracket.

- Carefully pull outward on the cable end to detach it from the shift shaft lever.

- Position the cable and retainer away from the pressure line.






12. Remove the pressure line.

13. NOTE: Make sure the pressure line is routed correctly.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.


14. Fill the power steering system.
