Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid
Removal
WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

All vehicles
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Pickup body vehicles and chassis cab vehicles equipped with an aft-of-axle fuel tank
3. NOTE: It is not necessary to separate the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister from the bracket.
Remove the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister and bracket assembly. For additional information, refer to Evaporative Emission Canister .
4. Place the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister and bracket assembly on a clean work surface.
Chassis cab vehicles equipped with a midship fuel tank
5. Disconnect the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister vent solenoid electrical connector.
All vehicles
6. Remove the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister vent solenoid tube.
7. Spread the mounting tabs and remove the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister vent solenoid from the EVAP (Evaporative Emission) canister.
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
