Pinpoint Test A: DTC U300D:11

Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Systems - 1-Speed Torque-On-Demand

Pinpoint Test A: DTC U300D:11

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 34, Four-Wheel Drive System for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation

The Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) receives ignition switch position status from the hardwired run/start input to TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) pin 7 and the ignition switch position status message communicated by the Instrument Cluster (IC) over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). The ignition switch position status message originates from the Smart Junction Box (SJB) which communicates the ignition switch position status over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) to the IC (Instrument Cluster) which acts as a gateway module, transferring the ignition switch status message from MS-CAN (Medium Speed Controller Area Network) to HS-CAN (High Speed Controller Area Network). For information regarding network messaging, refer to Information Bus.

- DTC U300D:11 (Ignition Input On/Start: Circuit Short To Ground)- Fault sets when TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) detects a short to ground on C2371A-7. If the ignition switch is not in RUN for the self-test, this code will set.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Fuse

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

- Ignition switch and/or circuitry

- HS-CAN (High Speed Controller Area Network)

PINPOINT TEST A : DTC U300D:11

A1 CHECK THE TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) IGNITION POSITION (KEY_POS_4X4) AND IGNITION STATUS (KEY_STATUS_4X4) PIDs

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: DataLogger- TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module).

- Monitor the ignition position KEY_POS_4X4 and KEY_STATUS_4X4 PIDs while cycling through each position.

Do the ignition PIDs match the ignition switch positions?

Yes
The system is functioning correctly. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.

No
If the KEY_STATUS_4X4 PID did not match, CHECK Smart Junction Box (SJB) fuse 35 (10A). If the fuse is OK, REPAIR circuit CBP35 (YE/GY). If the fuse is not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short Electrical Diagrams. After the fault is repaired, CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.

If the KEY_POS_4X4 PID did not match, REFER to Steering Column to diagnose the ignition switch. After the fault is repaired, CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
