Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair




Condenser Core - 6.2L and 6.8L





Removal and Installation

1. Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging.

2. Remove the radiator grille. For additional information, refer to Exterior Trim and Ornamentation Radiator Grille.

3. Remove the 2 power steering cooler bolts and position the power steering cooler aside.
- To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).





4. Remove the 2 condenser fitting nuts and disconnect the fittings.
- Discard the O-ring seals and gasket seals.

- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).

5. Remove the 2 condenser bolts.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).

6. Remove the condenser core.

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals and gasket seals.

- Add the correct amount of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to the Refrigerant Oil Adding procedure in Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Refrigerant Oil Adding.

8. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to Climate Control System - General Information and Diagnostics Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging.
