Flex Plate: Service and Repair

FLEXPLATE - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

REMOVAL

All vehicles
1. Remove the transmission.





Romeo engine (4.6L)





Windsor engine (5.4L)

2. Remove the bolts and flexplate.

INSTALLATION





Romeo engine (4.6L)





Windsor engine (5.4L)

1. Position the flexplate and install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts in two stages:
- Stage 1: Loosely install the bolts.
- Stage 2: Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.


All Vehicles
2. Install the transmission.
