Transmission Insulator and Retainer

Removal
All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Use the high-lift transmission jack to support the transmission and remove the nuts.





4x2 vehicles
3. Remove the crossover pipe to exhaust hanger nut.





4. Raise the transmission enough to gain access to the transmission insulator nuts.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the transmission insulator and exhaust hanger bracket.





4x4 vehicles
5. Remove two heat shield to crossmember bolts.





6. Remove the crossmember bolts and nuts.





7. Remove the crossmember bolts and nuts, and remove the crossmember.





8. Remove the transmission insulator.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the transmission insulator.

Installation





4x4 vehicles
1. Install the transmission insulator.
1 Install the transmission insulator and exhaust hanger bracket.
2 Install the bolts.





2. Install the crossmember, and the three bolts and nuts.





3. Install the bolts and nuts.





4. Install two heat shield bolts.





4x2 vehicles
5. Install the transmission insulator.
1 Install the transmission insulator and exhaust hanger bracket.
2 Install the bolts.





6. Install the crossover pipe to exhaust hanger nut.





7. Lower the transmission onto the crossmember and install the nuts.

All vehicles
8. Remove the high-lift transmission jack.
9. Lower the vehicle, run the engine and check the transmission fluid, add fluid as necessary.
