Reactivation



Special Tool(s):






SPECIAL TOOL(S)

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, AND NOTES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.







2. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the driver side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







3. Connect the driver side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







4. Align the driver side B-pillar trim panel and push in, seating the B-pillar trim panel retaining clips.







5. Install the driver side B-pillar assist handle.
1 Position the B-pillar assist handle.
2 Install the screws.
3 Install the caps.







6. Install the B-pillar weather-stripping.







7. Position the safety belt guide. Install the nut. Close the safety belt guide cover.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY BELT WEBBING IS NOT TWISTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.



CAUTION: Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide cover.







8. Install the driver side rear scuff plate.







9. Install the driver side front scuff plate.







10. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







11. Connect the passenger side safety belt retractor pretensioner electrical connector.







12. Align the passenger side B-pillar trim panel and push in, seating the B-pillar trim panel retaining clips.







13. Install the passenger side B-pillar assist handle.
1 Position the B-pillar assist handle.
2 Install the screws.
3 Install the caps.







14. Install the B-pillar weather-stripping.







15. Position the safety belt guide. Install the nut. Close the safety belt guide cover.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY BELT WEBBING IS NOT TWISTED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

CAUTION: Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide cover is damaged or if it does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide cover.







16. Install the passenger side rear scuff plate.







17. Install the passenger side front scuff plate.







18. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the passenger air bag electrical connector.







19. Connect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.







20. Install the instrument panel relay cover.







21. Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering column.







22. Connect the clockspring electrical connector at the base of the steering column.







23. Install the lower instrument panel steering column cover.
1 Position the cover.
2 Install the six bolts.
3 Connect the hood release lever. Install the two bolts.
4 Connect the parking brake release lever. Install the two bolts.







24. Install the central junction box panel cover.







25. Install the upper instrument panel steering column cover.
26. Connect the battery ground cable.
27. With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Prove Out Procedure

WARNING: THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TOOL IS FOR RESTRAINT SYSTEM SERVICE ONLY. REMOVE FROM VEHICLE PRIOR TO ROAD USE. FAILURE TO REMOVE COULD RESULT IN INJURY AND POSSIBLE VIOLATION OF VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS.

28. Check the active restraints system for correct operation.
